Wibisana - (Raden) - Ramayana
When he was a teenager, Wibisana and his older brother meditated on Mount Gohkarya for many years. When Batara Narada met him, Wibisana expressed his desire to become a knight who knows the ultimate truth and dares to act to express that truth. His request was granted, but Bathara Narada reminded him that in order to achieve goodness and find the truth, something must always be sacrificed.
In connection with this wish, it turns out that Wibisana had to sacrifice his loyalty to his homeland and his brothers.
When Prabu Dasamuka kidnapped Dewi Sinta, together with Kumabkarna, Wibisana repeatedly advised Ravana alias Dasamuka to free Ramawijaya's wife again, so that an attack between the Alengka kingdom and Rama's army could be avoided.
However, their older brother ignored their advice. Annoyed, Kumbakarna went home and slept for days or even weeks. Meanwhile, Wibisana continues to try to make his brother aware of the wrong actions he committed. He reminded him that whatever his brother faced, he was an incarnation of Vishnu who could not be defeated. The debate between the brothers became heated until the two got into an argument, until finally Gunawan Wibisana was expelled from the Alengka Kingdom.
With a broken heart, Wibisana left Alengka's palace and his country. He then met with Ramawijaya, his sister's enemy. In front of Rama, Wibisana expressed his intention to serve Rama and promised to be faithful. Rama also accepted Wibisana's intentions. From Wibisana, various secrets of the power of the Alengka Kingdom were revealed, making it easier for Ramawijaya and his army to defeat the army of the Alengka Kingdom.
When an Alengkan spy named Sukrasana managed to infiltrate the camp of Rama and his keran soldiers in Pancawati, Wibiasna managed to spot and arrest him. When Laksmana had difficulty killing Dewi Sarpakenaka, Wibisana also discovered his older sister's weakness. Wibisana suggested that Anoman first pull out Dewi Sarpakenaka's venomous nails, because that is where her supernatural powers lie. After knowing Sarpakenaka's weak point, Laksmana easily killed his enemy. Likewise, one of Ravana's children, Trisirah, overwhelmed Rama's troops, because he could never be killed. Dasamuka's son, who has the form of a three-headed giant, every time one of his heads is severed from his neck, a new head always grows. Wibisana then told Laksmana that Trisirah would only die if he was shot with a Trident. When Anoman and Trigangga faced Bukbis aka Topeng Waja, Wibisana was also the one who told Anoman to bring a giant mirror that reflected the magic light from Topeng Waja until finally Bukbis was killed by the reflection of its magic light. Wibisana has Aji Dipasanjata which means he can ward off all kinds of spells, including Aji Panyirep spells.
After the Alengka Kingdom army was defeated and Prabu Dasamuka was killed, Wibisana was appointed king of Alengka by Rama. Because the royal capital had been destroyed due to war, Wibisana then built a new one and it was later named Singapore.
During the coronation ceremony, Gunawan Wibisana received a gift in the form of a golden carriage named Kyai Jatisura from Ramawijaya. Apart from that, he also received extensive advice regarding guidelines on how to be a good and wise king. Sri Rama's teachings on Wibisana are called Hastabrata teachings.
Gunawan Wibisana is married to an angel named Dewi Triwati. From this marriage, they were blessed with two children, namely Dewi Trijata and Dentawilukrama. Dewi Trijata then became the wife of Kapi Jembawan, an old monkey who was a follower of Rama. After becoming an adult, Dentawilukrama was crowned king, replacing his father, with the title Prabu Bisawarna. In fact, before Dasamuka kidnapped Dewi Sinta, Wibisana was already worried about his eldest brother's actions. When the Alengka soothsayers predicted that the Goddess of dance, Prabu Dasamuka's wife, would give birth to a baby girl, the incarnation of Dewi Widowati. If the prediction was proven, it was clear that her daughter would be married by Dasamuka himself, because he had promised to marry the woman who was the incarnation of Dewi Widowati. To prevent that from happening, when the Goddess of Dance gave birth to a baby girl, Wibisana took the baby secretly and then threw it in the river. Then, with the help of the gods, Wibisana created a baby boy from a cloud to replace the baby girl he had thrown away. The baby boy was then recognized as a new baby born to the Goddess of Dance. The baby was then given the name Indrajid alias Megananda.
