Warsasena took part in the battle of Bharatayuda leading the Awangga national army. He faced Arya Setyaki, the son of Prabu Setyajid with Dewi Wresini from the country of Lesanpura who became the war commander of the country of Dwarawati.
Warsasena, lost in the battle, was crushed by Wesikuning's mace.
