Narada - (Batara) - All stories
Batara Narada or also called Kanekaputra is the son of Hyang Darmajaka. He is beautiful in appearance and powerful too. To increase his supernatural powers, Betara Kanekaputra meditated on the ocean water without moving. His right hand was holding Linggamanik's cupu (cepu) which he never let go of.
Betara Narada's actions were known by Betara Guru who responded to it as Betara Narada's effort to dominate this world. So all the Gods were ordered by Betara Guru to prevent the will of Betara Narada even by using weapons, but all efforts were unsuccessful. Betara Narada stayed in his tapanya. Then Betara Guru himself came to see Betara Kanekaputra. There was an argument between the two Gods, where Betara Guru came out as the loser. Therefore, Betara Guru felt younger than Betara Narada and to further mention Betara Kanekaputra kakang, kanda. Betara Kanekaputra was then brought by Betara Guru and appointed as the leader of all the Gods in Jonggringsaloka, the palace of all the Gods.
One time, because of his anger towards Betara Kanekaputra, Betara Guru's handsome face was changed until it became ugly, after that Kanekaputra was called Narada.
