Jayadrata - (Prabu) - Mahabharata

Jayadrata , the young king in the Sindu Kalangan Kingdom, had the title Arya Sindureja, which actually came from the skin of Bima's baby wrap. Dewi Kunti's second son was born wrapped in thick and tenacious skin. Multiple attempts were made to unwrap the baby, but to no avail. Finally Batara Narada came down to earth, and told him that the baby's wrapping could only be opened by a pet elephant from the Astina Kingdom. In the Astina square, the elephant named Sena managed to break the baby's wrapper, after the animal was infiltrated by Betara Bayu. However, as soon as it broke, because of the influence of Batara Bayu's power, a whirlwind came which blew the skin of the wrapper away, all the way to the coast of the land of Sindu Kalangan or Sindureja. The skin of the baby's wrap that fell on the beach was then rolled by the waves and thrown into the lap of Begawan Sapwani who at that time was meditating to beg the Gods to be blessed with a child. His request was granted. The skin of the baby wrapped in Begawan Sapwani's lap suddenly turned into a baby boy. Begawan Sapwani was so happy, he really loved his beloved son and named him Bambang Sagara, alias Arya Tirtanata, alias Jayadrata. When he was an adult, Jayadratha's face and body were very similar to Bima.

Arya Jayadrata's real name is Arya Tirtanata or Bambang Sagara. He was the crowned king of the Sindu country, and had the title Prabu Sinduraja. Because he wanted to deepen his knowledge in the field of governance and statecraft, Prabu Sinduraja went to the country of Astina to study with Prabu Pandu Dewanata. To maintain his honor and self-respect, he changed his name to that of his patih, Jayadrata. In Astina's country, Jayadrata met the Kurawa family, and was finally taken as Prabu Drestarasta's son-in-law, married to Dewi Dursilawati and appointed Duke of Buanakeling. From this marriage he had two sons named; Arya Virata and Arya Surata.

By Resi Sapwani he was given a mace heirloom called Kyai Glinggang. Jayadratha was killed by Arjuna on the battlefield of Bharatayuda as the commander of the Kurawa war. His head was severed from his body by Pasopati's magic arrow.

Raden Jayadrata

Raden Jayadrata is the idol of Begawan Sapwaniwijawastra from Buanakeling country. When he was an adult, Jayadrata wanted to serve the king and on Sapwani's instructions, Jayadrata was advised to serve Raden Bratasena, the second Pendawa and it was also explained to him that Bratasena was his brother.
On his way to get Bratasena, Jayadrata met Patih Sakuni to persuade him to serve King Astina, a king of a large and rich country and Sakuni also promised to make Jayadrata a great servant and to marry him to Dewi Dursilawati, Prabu Suyudana's sister. Sakuni's persuasion was a clever ruse, because in Jayadrata's gallantry and good looks he saw a possibility in the future to appoint Jayadrata as an Astina hero in facing the Pendawa in the future.

All of Sakuni's plans came true. Jayadrata became a great leader, married Suyudana's sister, Dewi Dursilawati and was given great power with the title of great knight. The Astina government thus obtained a warrior to be submitted later in the Baratayuda war. Raden Jayadrata looks similar to Raden Wrekodara and Raden Gatotkaca. Remembering the romance of his face and remembering his origins, Jayadrata is actually, when viewed from a spiritual point of view, closer to Pendawa than Astina.
In the Baratayuda war, Jayadratha was worshiped secretly by Sapwani, to win the war. In this connection, Arjuna said, "If today I cannot kill Jayadratha, I will commit suicide by burning myself." This speech was heard by Sapwani. Then Jayadratha was well hidden. But when the time came for Arjuna to commit suicide, he stalked Jayadratha from his hiding place. His actions were discovered by King Krishna and on his orders, Arjuna released his arrow, hitting Jayadratha, breaking his neck. By Arjuna Jayadratha's head was thrown in front of the worshiping Sapwani.
Jayadrata has wide eyes, a pointed nose, and a slightly bowed face. Such a face shows a bravery. Hair in a bun. Berjamgan three stacks with eagles facing back. Prada Ringing, popping, and curling. Full royal cloth and cindai pants.
