Antasena - (Raden) - Mahabharata[edit | edit source]

In the epic Mahabharata, the character Antasena does not actually exist. Antasena in Javanese wayang is depicted as a figure who is plain, naive, but firm in her convictions. When talking to anyone, he never uses polite language. He is the most powerful child of Bima who is able to fly like Gatotkaca , sink to the earth and dive in water, and his skin is protected by shrimp scales which makes him immune to all types of weapons.

Bima left Urangayu when Antasena was still in the womb to return to the land of Amarta. He was cared for and raised by his mother and grandfather in Kisik Narmada . Simultaneously with the birth of Antasena, the heaven of Suralaya was being attacked by troops from Girikadasar under the rule of king Kalalodra . Antasena, who was still small, succeeded in destroying the giant king. With Antasena's success, his grandfather Resi Mintuna was appointed the ruler of fish, with the title Batara Baruna.
When Rishi Bhishma held a competition to create a river leading to the Ganges River. His grandchildren, the Korawa and Pandawa competed with each other, Werkudara, assisted by troops from Kisik Narmada led by Antasena, succeeded in creating a river which Resi Bhishma named the Serayu River . Meanwhile, the Kauravas only succeeded in making a river that penetrated the Serayu River, and the river was named Kewaling or upside down. In puppetry, Kelawing is also called Kali Cingcinggoling.
Of course, the Kauravas were heartbroken because of their defeat. The desire to destroy the Pandavas reappeared. The Kauravas then allied with the king of Girisamodra , King Ganga Trimuka . At the persuasion of Sengkuni , Ganga Trimuka will dominate Tribuwana if he can kill the Pandavas. Ganga Trimuka then captured the Pandavas and imprisoned them in a glass building called Kongedah , until they died. Knowing that the Pandavas were imprisoned, Antasena immediately attacked King Girisamodra and destroyed him with a caress. The Pandavas were then revived by Antasena with Cupu Madusena , an heirloom given to him by his grandfather. Girisamodra was then given to Antasena. Antasena then married his cousin, Arjuna's daughter , Janakawati.

As an adult, Antasena became king in the country of Dasarsamodra, the former country of King Ganggatrimuka who was killed in war. On the eve of the Bharatayuddha war , Antasena and his cousin Wisanggeni went to Sanghyang Wenang to ask for blessings from Alang-alang Kumitir. However, Sanghyang Wenang actually said that victory would be on the Pandavas' side if they did not take part in the battle at Kurukhsetra. Because he was able to see far into the future, Sri Krishna tricked him and ordered Antasena to lick his own footsteps and Antasena was killed. Krishna did this because if he was left alive, no one would be able to compete with Antasena in the Baratayuda war.
Finally, Antasena and Wisanggeni decided not to return to the world, both of them took a moment of silence, and finally moksa (disappears with his entire body) together in the heaven of Sang Hyang Wenang.

Raden Antasena has wide eyes, a sharp nose, a moustache, a beard, and plain hair. Berjang with an eagle on its back and decorated with kembang kluwih. Crescent moon necklace, bracelet, pomto and kroncong. Dressed in turbans, cindai pants.
