Bratalaras – (Raden) – Mahabharata
Initially, there were two people interested in marrying Dewi Karnawati, namely Lesmana Mandrakumara, the crown prince of Astina and Bratalaras.
Dewi Karnawati then put forward a condition. The daughter of Adipati Karna wanted that when she got married, she wanted her sinom hair (the hair on her forehead) to be scraped with Pancanaka nails. It turned out that Lesmana Mandrakumara had come first to meet Bima who had the Pancanaka nails. Bima immediately agreed to the request of Duryudana's son.
Bratalaras who arrived late, failed to get Bima's ability, so he was very confused. Fortunately, Wisanggeni, his half-brother was able to help. Wisanggeni then, with his supernatural powers, transformed Petruk into Bima. Then Bratalaras and the fake Bima immediately rushed to Awangga to meet Dewi Karnawati. With the fulfillment of the conditions, Bratalaras finally married Dewi Karnawati.
Not long after, Lesmana Mandrakumara came with the real Bima. Then there was a fight between Bratalaras and Lesmana Mandrakumara, the real Bima and the fake one. In the duel, the fake Bima transformed into Petruk. However, Dewi Karnawati remained Bratalaras' wife because she had been officially married first.
Like the other sons of Pandawa, Bratalaras also took part in the Bharatayuda war. He died together with his brother, Bambang Sumitra and four other brothers, namely: Wilugangga , Wijanarka , Prabakusuma and Antakadewa while fighting Begawan Drona.
At that time on the thirteenth day of Baratayuda, Bratalaras accompanied Bambang Sumitra to face Begawan Drona. But in the end they fell hit by Drona's arrows. The death of Bratalaras and Bambang Sumitra made Abimanyu furious, then he charged forward to hunt Drona. However, Abimanyu was not alert enough so he fell into the Kurawa trap.
