Basudewa - (Prabu) - Mahabharata

Before Prabu Basudewa ascended the throne as king in Madura, he was in a relationship with a preacher's daughter, Begawan Kawita, named Dewi Maerah. His marriage was happy until he became king. But his consort also caused the destruction of the kingdom of Madura, that is, when this kingdom had an enemy, a gigantic king named Prabu Gorawangsa. Gorawangsa was able to disguise himself as Prabu Basudewa and got along well with Dewi Maerah, so this goddess had a child, named Raden Kangsa. Prabu Basudewa is skilled in martial arts and skilled in the use of arrows and spears. He adores his family and succeeds his father as King of Mandura.

It was Raden Kangsa who subsequently destroyed the state of Madura, driving out the sons of Prabu Basudewa. But after Kangsa died, the land of Madura was safe again. After his old age, he handed over the kingdom of Mandura to his son, Kakrasana, and lived as a priest at the Randugumbala Monastery. Prabu Basudewa died when Mandura was attacked by Prabu Sitija/Bomanarakasura, the king of Surateleng.
