Dewa Ruci – (Batara) – Mahabharata

It is mentioned in the book Dewa Ruci where it is told about Sena (Bima), when studying with the Reverend Durna about the science of humanity, until he managed to find what he meant, namely Dewa Ruci who is actually the subtlety of Wrekodara himself or in other words his true personality. So the image of Dewa Ruci is similar to Wrekodara, but in a small form, which means that it is the subtlety of Wrekodara.

When studying about the science of perfection from Dewa Ruci, Wrekodara was ordered to enter Dewa Ruci's body. Wrekodara was amazed and asked if he could enter. Dewa Ruci laughed and said, "Let alone you, the world and its contents can also enter my body." This symbolizes that the human soul is greater (broader) than the world.

Sena is Durna's teacher's student. He was taught that if you want to achieve perfection for the purity of your body, you must follow the teacher's order, which is to find the holy water of life in Tibrasara forest, below Gandawedana, in Candramuka mountain, inside the cave. Sena, who was sure that he would not be deceived and killed by his teacher's teachings, still had the intention of following his teacher's orders. But the truth is that teacher Durna had the intention of killing him. Batara Guru advised Durna that if he had found the holy water, it would mean he had reached perfection. After that, Sena said goodbye to Durna and Prabu Suyudana.

After arriving at the Candramuka mountain cave, the water they were looking for was not there, and the surrounding caves were destroyed. Because he felt uncomfortable because his place was destroyed, Sena was attacked by the giants Rukmuka and Rukmala. In the battle against the two giants, finally Sena was able to kill both of them. This means that Sena can remove obstacles to achieve its goals so that it can achieve results. Finally, Sena realized that the holy water is not in the forest but actually in the ocean. Without hesitation, he traveled across the ocean. Without thinking about the danger, he threw himself into the sea, but in the sea there was a big dragon that chased Sena until he just cut his neck, throwing upas. Sena is confused and thinks he will die soon. At the time when he was not strong, Sena remembered about his claws, Sena quickly stuck his claws into the dragon's body until the dragon died.

After Sena killed the dragon with pancanaka's nails, Sena met a small God, Dewa Ruci, who looked exactly like him. Sena entered Dewa Ruci's body through the left ear. Inside, Sena could see the whole world clearly and also see the little God.
Do it right, close your eyes, regulate your breathing, focus your mind. Inside Sena can see everything (Tinerbuka) clearly and nothing is hidden anymore. Sena has received the most important lesson in his life that deep inside he is one with the holy, not separate. He has reached the true reality. Sena has never felt joy like this before. At first he didn't want to go but he remembered that he had to keep doing his job and his duty to meet his family and others.

This depiction of Dewa Ruci is an allegory of human desire that continues to want to trace the existence of their god by conducting spiritual exploration. According to Javanese philosophy, humans are the small universe or microcosm (small world). And the universe is the big universe or macrocosm. But basically, the human world is bigger than the universe. Because whoever knows himself, he knows his God.
