Setyawati – (Dewi) – Mahabharata

Before being named Setyawati, she was named Pujawati, because she was originally a worshiper of the Begawan.

One night Dewi Pujawati dreamed of meeting a knight named Raden Narasoma. The goddess asked her ramanda to find the knight, whom she met in the dream. The knight went to look for the knight, found him and asked him to marry his daughter, but Raden Narasoma refused. Narasoma felt ashamed of having a giant as his father-in-law. So Narasoma said to Pujawati that their match could take place if the Begawan was willing to be killed. After this was conveyed by Pujawati to the Begawan, the Begawan stated that he had no objections, as long the marriage still took place. Begawan Bagaspati was killed by Narasoma. Raden Narasoma married Dewi Pujawati and became later the king of the Mandraka country. Because of her loyalty to her husband, Pujawati's name was then changed to Setyawati.
It is mentioned in the story, this princess, until she had five children, never quarreled with Prabu Salya and the husband and wife continued their life like newlyweds.

Bagaspati left to Narasoma the magical will of Candrabirawa in the form of a small giant monster that can help in war. But Sang Begawan also left a message, that in the Baratayuda war Narasoma would receive the reward for his actions against Bagaspati from a person with white (pure) blood. At that time a voice was heard, "Listen Narasoma, in the Baratayuda war you will be killed by a king who is compassionate towards fellow creatures." It turned out that the revenge was done by Prabu Yudistira.

In the Beratayuda war, after Prabu Salya died, Dewi Setyawati followed to the battlefield. When she found the body of the King, the Goddess committed suicide beside the body.
