Suyudana - (Raden) - Mahabharata

After an unusally long time Dewi Gandari gave birth to a huge meatball. Abiasa divided this ball into one hundred equal pieces. There was a small piece left. All pieces were carefully stored in barrels of butter for two years. On the first day of the third year, a day after the birth of the Pandawa brothers, the vessels were opened. A barrel was opened every day. Suyudana, who is also called Duryadana, is the eldest. Next came Dursasana. This continued until the hundred and first day of the girl Dursilawati (also called Dusala) was born.

The sons of Prabu Dasarata and Dewi Gandari are called the Korawa.

Suyudana was appointed as an official of the king in Astina by Prabu Dasarasta, to take care of Pandu's still small son. Demi Pandu is the candidate for king in Astina, who is not stressed because he is dying. When Pandu's son became an adult, Suyudana did not hand over the position of king.
