Surtikanti - (Dewi) - Mahabharata

Initially, Surtikanti was betrothed to King Duryudana from Hastina. But before that, Surtikanti had become acquainted with Raden Suryaputra (Karna). The introduction and relationship between them took place secretly. Until one day the Mandaraka Palace was in an uproar because someone infiltrated to meet Dewi Surtikanti. That person's face is very similar to Pamade (Arjuna). Therefore, Arjuna promised to find and arrest this person.

Pamade (Arjuna) managed to find Suryaputra. A fight between the two cannot be avoided. Until Pamade managed to grab Suryaputra's neck and was about to cut off his neck. However, soon Bathara Narada came who broke up the fight between the two brothers. Bathara Narada then explained that they were brothers, Suryaputra was the older brother of Pamade (Arjuna). Sang Hyang Narada then presented Suryaputra with a crown to cover the wound on his temple and he has since been crowned Suryaputra. After hearing Bathara Narada's explanation, Pamade actually helped Suryaputra to get Dewi Surtikanti . Finally, Duryudana was willing to give in and handed over Surtikanti to Karna.

The war between the two knights was so beautiful that it became a famous dance called the wireng dance, which describes the war between Pamade (Arjuna) and Suryaputra. This dance is also known as Wireng Karna Tinanding. The wireng dance is one of the selected dances and indeed it is also danced to the soft sound of the gamelan so that it can touch the hearts of audiences interested in art.

Dewi Surtikanti defends the death of her husband Adipati Karna and commited suicide. However, this was actually the fault of Adimanggala, the governor of the Awangga state. Adipati Karna asked his wife for sedah/betel, but she said that Adipati Karna was Seda/dead.
