Pragalba – () – Mahabharata
This giant is called Raksasa Prepat, a prominent figure in the kingdom of giants. This puppet can be used in any play with the name of the puppeteer. The name Bragalba is a common name (bragalba means tiger).
One day Bragalba received an order from his king to deliver a letter to the king of the country of Antah-berantah. The king gave his blessing and Bragalba replied, "My lord, I will uphold your command and I beg you to die." The king's order, "Bragalba, I did not order you to die, I hope you are always well."
Bragalba walked backwards accompanied by the song ayak ayakan pinjalan. The sound of the gamelan walking backwards Bragalba was very impressive, as if marking the results of his work and it turned out that Bragalba was killed by a knight while he was on his way.
Bragalba's death in upholding his king's command added to his name and spread widely in his country. Even though he was a giant, his death as a soldier was fully appreciated. In every play, this giant is always killed by a knight's arrow.
In the story of Parta Krama he was killed by Prince Gathutkaca. In traditional all-night shadow puppet performance this puppet can also uses for perang kembang (flower battle) as Cakil’s older brother who always killed by warrior prince in this fight. Puppeteer also use this puppet for one of Tremboko’s son (King of Pringgandani).
