Ugrasena – (Raden) – Mahabharata

Raden Ugrasena was the brother of Prabu Basudewa from the Madura country. Because of his supernatural powers, he managed to eradicate the giant enemy from the Paranggubarja country who invaded Suralaya.

To repay his services by the Gods, he was given a nymph as a gift, Dewi Wresni to be his wife. The Karanggubarja country was renamed Lesanpura country and Arya Ugrasena became the king, replacing his father-in-law, Prabu Wersaya and was given the title Prabu Setyajid.

In the Purwa era, most knights married by fulfilling the woman's request in the form of something that was not easily obtained, but there were also requests, and the request was fulfilled. In many cases, the dowry requested was in the form of an enemy that had to be defeated. There were also strange requests, such as in connection with the marriage of Dewi Erawati, the princess of the country of Madraka, in which case her request was in the form of a pahat, the most beautiful bride's escort. When Arjuna married Dewi Wara Sembadra, his request was for Kebo Danu (forest buffalo), and others.

The end of his story is told, Prabu Setyajid/Ugrasena fell on the battlefield against Prabu Bomanarakasura, the king of the Surateleng or Trajutisna country.
